§ 2-56. Council committees.

The mayor and city council may provide for the appointment of such committees as they deem necessary or desirable, including any standing committees or special committees. All committees and committee chairmen shall be appointed by the mayor and serve at his pleasure. The mayor shall have the power to appoint new members to any committee at any time.
